At High Society Occasions we’re always on the look out for well dressed ladies who present a good example of how to dress. Looking at the Oscar dresses we thought two women stood out in particular - Sarah Jessica Parker and Penelope Cruz.

We loved Sarah Jessica Parker’s gown, in pale green by Dior Haute Couture. The cinched in waist with the belt is very 50′s, and the skirt screamed Hollywood glamour. Simple yet a very strong statement.

Penelope Cruz’s dress was vintage Pierre Balmain from 1950, apparently she had had it for 8 years and had been keeping it for a special occasion!

Both of our favourite gowns were very pale,  and and reminiscent of wedding gowns. Is this because everyone loves to see some real glamour, particularly in these recession hit times?
